Journey of Love
“Marriage is not a race, it’s not about fast or slow. But, who is ready to carry out a great mandate.”
Taufiq had known about Rina for a long time. She was his cousin’s senior in college, someone he admired from afar, but they never had the chance to communicate. For years, she remained out of reach, a familiar name but a distant presence.
In November 2023, something changed. Taufiq finally had the opportunity to connect with Rina directly, without any intermediaries. This was the first time they spoke to each other, and it led to their first meeting.
By December 2023, Taufiq was certain of his feelings and shared his intentions with Rina. He told her that he wanted something serious, something real. But Rina, careful and thoughtful, did not respond immediately. She needed time to consider what this new relationship could mean.
Their paths crossed again in January 2024, this time as colleagues. Both Taufiq and Rina were doctors, and they found themselves working in the same region, Polewali Mandar. This unexpected reunion brought them closer.
As the months passed, Rina began to see that she and Taufiq shared the same goals and values. In May 2024, she finally responded to his earlier declaration and agreed to take their relationship to the next level. It was a mutual decision, grounded in a deep understanding of each other’s hopes and dreams.
In June 2024, Taufiq fulfilled a promise he had made to himself. He visited Rina’s parents, bringing his family along to formally ask for her hand in marriage. This visit took place just a day after Rina’s birthday, making it the most memorable gift she had ever received. Their engagement was not just a celebration of their love, but also a confirmation that they were ready to build a future together.
Now, as they prepare for their wedding on September 7, 2024, Rina and Taufiq look back on their journey with gratitude. What began as a distant connection has grown into a deep bond, and they are excited to start the next chapter of their lives together.
